Get to know iris

Iris is a clinical psychologist and advanced schema therapist practicing at Inner Dimension Psychology. She values authenticity and strives to be a heart-centred therapist who genuinely cares about her clients’ therapeutic needs. She believes that therapy can foster personal growth by cultivating insight, courage, and compassion.

Iris has worked in diverse settings, including private psychiatric hospitals (both inpatient and outpatient), secondary education, private practice, and university health clinics. Using evidence-based approaches, she tailors her therapeutic interventions to address the unique needs of each individual client. She is passionate about guiding clients to explore and transform self-limiting automatic patterns of feelings, thoughts, and behaviours.

Iris views psychotherapy as both an art and a science. She actively stays informed about the latest research in psychotherapy while dedicating time to refining her therapeutic skills through regular training and supervision. Iris has completed advanced training in Schema Therapy and holds certification as an advanced Schema Therapist from the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST). She is one of the few advanced schema therapists in Brisbane. More recently, Iris has been undergoing training in short-term psychodynamic psychotherapy, with a specific focus and keen interest in attachment theory and the intricate interplay between the mind and body.

Having worked in both Australia and Asia, Iris is also a Mandarin speaking psychologist who brings an appreciation for the cultural sensitivities to her practice. Her personal and professional journey has increased her awareness of the cultural considerations involved in supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds. Iris also holds a particular interest in Migrant Mental Health. She hopes to address the unique challenges faced by individuals with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
