Get to know Juan zhong
Juan is an AHPRA registered psychologist practicing at Inner Dimension Psychology. She believes in providing therapy that is warm, gentle, grounded, and evidence-based. Juan aims to create a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, understood and supported. She values reflective collaboration and works alongside clients to support self-understanding, personal growth, resilience, and meaningful change.
Juan has clinical experience across a range of settings, including the university multidisciplinary clinic, private practice, and multidisciplinary private hospital mental health and chronic pain management wards. Her therapeutic approach has been shaped by her clinical experience, ongoing professional development, and guidance from various clinical supervisors. Juan understands that each client is unique, and she values tailoring therapy to each person’s needs, preference, goals, and suitability for different therapeutic approaches.
Juan also has extensive experience in psychometric assessments, which is an area of strong interest and ongoing professional growth for her. Juan views psychometric assessment as a collaborative exploration rather than a purely diagnostic process. She works with both adults and children to better understand their strengths, challenges, learning styles, and lived experiences, with the aim of supporting deeper self-understanding and meaningful next steps. Juan can provide assessments related to neurodivergent presentations, including ADHD, Autism, AuDHD, as well as learning and educational profile, personality profile, developmental concerns, and cognitive ability profiles. She provides informative, individualised feedback to help clients and families better understand assessment findings and consider appropriate post-assessment supports.
Having been an international student for over 12 years and having lived across different countries, Juan brings personal insight into life transitions, cultural identity, and the challenges of adjusting and navigating unfamiliar systems. She values cultural diversity and emphasises culturally sensitive practice to support individuals who may feel misunderstood, displaced, or uncertain during periods of change. Juan is passionate about helping clients feel understood not only through their symptoms or challenges, but also through their personal stories, strengths, culture, and lived experiences.
